Last Saturday saw Mike, Lee and Faith attend their Emergency First Response (1st aid), Emergency Oxygen Provider and Care for Children courses in preparation for their Rescue Diver course next month. It was also my first time instructing the course since qualifying as an EFR instructor. Arriving at the shop feeling a little nervous I was met by Kev and Ian who had everything prepared for me. The morning was spent going through knowledge reviews and exams before taking a short break for lunch. The first half of the afternoon was an opportunity for Mike, Lee and Faith to learn and practice CPR, Oxygen administration, casualty stabilisation & assessment, serious bleeding management, bandaging and splinting. We then moved onto some scenarios which gave all three of them the chance to put into practice the skills learnt throughout the day. All three passed with flying colours and have learnt some valuable skills.
Congratulations Mike, Lee and Faith and thank you for being my first students
